So this weekend Frankie and I decided to say what the Hell, let's drive to LA so we can see movies in a cemetery. Every summer for the last several years, Cinespia (an Italian portmanteau for movie spy) shows outdoor movies on the lawn of Hollywood Forever cemetery. When I first heard "Hollywood Forever Cemetery" I had no real clue what they were talking about. When I last was there, it was the Hollywood Cemetery, and it was a run down ramshackle place that made most of it's money charging $500 for disinterments. Turns out it was owned by a guy named Roth, felon and millionaire. He bilked it as much as he could before he died. Then it was bought by the brothers Cassity, the white knights who renamed, restored, and renewed it into Hollywood Forever. Great right?
