Cinema Spy!

It's graveyard movie time!

Frankie and I drove down to Brynna in San Jose Friday afternoon. It was earlier than she was expecting so we explored.

Actually, we said "Oh, crap" and used our phones to make a plan.

Our first idea was to see Beethoven's lock of hair. Unfortunately it was overseas being tested for various compounds. But it was still a really cool mini museum inside the King Library. And there were other mini museums too! And a Mary Shelley/Frankenstein exhibit!

But the big surprise - THERE'S A SECRET BOOKCASE IN THE MYSTERY SECTION!
Push on the second bookshelf from the left.

It's a beautiful library, full of activism, education, mystery, and fun. Everything a library should be.

We got to see some Quidditch practice on the lawn.

Afterward we went to My Milkshake, which offers superhero themed milkshakes. Frankie had the Deadpool. I went for full on chocolate, coffee, and peanut M&Ms. Also sour cream and onion fries with hot sauce.

I felt really bad for Brynna - she had a really bad week which she didn't tell us about, except to say that she had food poisoning and wasn't really into dinner, which we had brought.

We had watermelon and watched cat videos.

Next day, we headed down early to get to Martha in Grenada Hills. then over to Kelsey's to prepare.

On the way we stopped at Taste of India in Buttonwillow - a place that blatantly advertises vegetarian food, so we thought we'd give it a try (even after our "Fuck You Buttonwillow!" moment). It was pretty good. Not up to the place in Olympia, but the owner was friendly, the place was clean, and so. much. food.

Now, in the run up, I was considering doing a full on Uncle Fred cosplay, but between working, being sick I just didn't have the energy to make it happen.

We opted for casual cosplay, which was a good decision, considering.  But it was hella fun. We had great snacks, instagrammable settings - everything one could need.

It's all in the mind
Best kids ever!

Shear joy - beautiful

It was great. Then the next day we went to a local Filipino place for brunch with purple yam waffles.

The only thing I wish is that I could have spent a little more time.
